Mrs. Kate Rees

Hey 4th grade families and students

Welcome back!

I hope you have all had a good summer? I am working super hard to get ready for a great year with you all.

Just to share with you, a little background about myself:

My family are relocating from England (yes another Brit to support Mrs. Poole!) . I am from a small town called Bracknell in the county of Berkshire (15 minutes from Windsor), however I come with a twist!

My mother originates from Huntington, West Virginia – go Marshall!!!! My father worked for IBM for many years and was asked to work in the UK. My parents happily obliged only expecting to be there for 5 years, 39 years later they are still there!!! I am one of four children who all have British accents along with my mother’s southern twang!

I am very fortunate to be part of a very large extended family who live across the West Coast.

My husband and I were asked if we would consider relocating to the States and we willingly offered!!!!! We visited the Bristow area last autumn and we were highly impressed with the school system and the community spirit. So, my husband and I are relocating with our two children, Isabel who is 7 years old and Benjamin who is 3 years old.

I have been a teacher for 15 years and I have taught all the year from Kindergarten up to the 4th grade. Last year, I taught a mixed year group of 3rd and 4th graders with a class of 33 children!

I cannot wait to meet all of my new students on Wednesday.

A couple of interesting facts you may want to know about me:

I have held Prince George – he is very cute! So polite.

I lived 5 minutes down the road from “Privet Drive” where Harry Potter and the Muggles lived.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries about your child’s learning.

Homework is assigned nightly, unless there is a special LHS school-wide event. Students are required to copy assignments from the white board into their personal agenda. Parents are not required to sign the agenda; homework is the responsibility of the student.

Linton Hall School’s 4th grade class has their own Shutterfly webpage. Parents who have submitted their personal email address can log into the site and receive email updates on upcoming LHS/4th grade events. It is a great way to stay connected in the busy world!
