Caring and Sharing in Extended Day

Mass Tomorrow

Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 14th at 10:00 am in the Monastery Chapel.  After Mass and in the Chapel, our SCA Officers will be installed.All are welcome.


High School Information Fair TONIGHT! in the Multi-purpose Room

For all Linton Hall School 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade families! Tonight, Thursday, October 13 at 7:00pm we will be hosting a High School Information Fair in the multi-purpose room. The event will feature 5 private schools: Paul the VI, Pope John Paul the Great, Highland School, Wakefield School, and Randolph Macon Academy.  Hope to see you there!

Bake Sale: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508094aa9af2ba02-lhscommunity  We could use more bake sale items- whether it is a dozen cupcakes, brownies, muffins, or cookies, or a pie or some other delectable treat, we’d love for you to share it!!   Please drop off baked goods in the LHS Cafeteria on Thursday, October 13th or Friday, October 14th no later than 4:00 pm.

Raffle Tickets: Raffle tickets will be on sale at the Fun Fair. We have some amazing raffle items you are sure to not want to miss!!

  • Volunteers: We are STILL in need of a few hands from 11-3 at the Fun Fair. Please let us know if you can spare even an hour of time!!!

Our LHS Little Sprouts have enjoyed some very fun field trips this week…

  • Our Prek had fun at Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum
  • Our 3-Day loved Leesburg Animal Park
  • Our 2-Day explored and played at Ticonderoga Farm








Individual Picture day is coming October 18th

Please have your child wear his/her dress uniform on October 18th for individual picture day. Order envelopes have gone home and extra’s can be found in the main office. You can also order your portraits online at splendidportraits.com.  This weekend is a good time to get a haircut for picture day!


#I Can Help Parent Workshop October 19 at 6:30pm

This workshop is to help parents and their children open a discussion about growing up in the digital age.  Parenting has taken on a whole new role now that social media is so easy to get mixed up in.  This is a free workshop. All are welcome. Please click HERE to see more information.


Boys Soccer Tournament

Just a reminder we host the Boys soccer tournament and that it is scheduled for Friday, October 21. The canteen will be open for snacks and drinks. Click HERE for the menu.


Pink Out Day

On Thursday, October 20 Linton Hall School will hold a pink out day to raise money for Breast Cancer. Please wear pink and bring in a donation.



The GGC Committee is excited to announce that Max (5th grade) is the winner of the GGC T-shirt Design contest this year!  Congratulations Max!  Click HERE  to see Max’s design that will appear on the GGC t-shirt!

Thank you to all 23 artists who submitted 25  incredibly creative entries this year- the most entries ever!  The committee took a lot of time to carefully review each design.  LHS is fortunate to have so many artists who captured this fun race in their own visions!  We look forward to seeing additional artwork by these students throughout the year!

Spirit Night

Next Spirit Night is October 25th from 4-9pm at BJ’s Brewhouse in Gainesville.  Don’t forget to give this FLYER to your server when you pay.  BJ’s is generously donating 20% of what you spend back to the school!  Support your school while enjoying a family dinner you didn’t have to prepare.



It’s back!  The PSG’s most anticipated event of the year is here!  Get ready for some fun, food and great prizes at this year’s Bingoween, on Thursday October 27 from 6-8pm.  Have a little one and not sure if they will sit through Bingo?  Not to worry- we will have our Little Monsters Play area in the back of the gym to keep them entertained!

GREAT GHOST CHASE Volunteers needed

Christmas in October Service Project

For our October Service Learning Project, we are asking all of our Linton Hall School families to support the Sisters with their collection of gifts for the Appalachian Missions.  This mission serves the children in Appalachia who are in need of basic necessities.  Please consider contributing to this wonderful charity. The Book Fair is Here!

If books are the treasure you seek, come upstairs and take a peek….

Open Tuesday – Friday – 8:30 – 5:00 pm

Open Saturday – during Fun Fair – 10:00 – 3:00 pm


Visit the Book Fair as a family.  Talk with your child about what they are reading.  Connect your child with books they want to read and build your home library. It’s a great way to ensure your child’s success!

First Quarter Conferences

First quarter conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 11 from 8:30am-4:30pm. K-5 homeroom teachers will be scheduling their own sign ups through sign-up genius. For teachers of grade 6-8, you will be receiving an invitation through sign up genius from Mrs Poole. The sign up genius invitations will be sent on Friday, October 28. Each conference will last for 20 minutes.


LHS Chess Club 

Do you have a passion for the game of Chess? Would you like to pass on your knowledge of the game to a group of kids that are eager to learn/improve their game? Our Chess Club is looking for a new instructor/coach. We meet Friday’s bi-monthly before school from 7 – 8 AM. We have several students who participate in the Prince William Scholastic Chess Tournaments on a Saturday each month and the Catholic Schools Chess Tournament at St. Rita School in April. We have a group of helpers to assist with the club meetings during the month, we just really need an instructor/coach! Open House Dates

Please spread the word about Open Houses we will be having through the school year.  The dates are November 6th, 2016; January 29th 2017; and March 26th, 2017.  Please note the date change for the November Open House, this has been changed so that there is no conflict with the scheduled Redskin game. Each Open House is open to the public and all families are welcome to come and share the school spirit.


Box Tops

Calling all classes…Bring in those box tops!! The K-8th grade class that brings in the most box tops through October 21st will win a DRESS DOWN DAY. The preschool class that brings in the most box tops will earn a PAJAMA DAY!  Please put your box tops in a sealable bag, labeled with name and grade and return to homeroom teacher.  See flyer HERE

Parents of students in Grades 4-8 can access grade and attendance information online or through a mobile app (Android or iOS.) If you’re unsure of your Parent Portal login, please contact Ms. McGee in the front office.
