Fun at Linton Hall School
Our next Mass will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, September 9 at 10:00 am in the Monastery Chapel. Our celebrant will be Father Michael Hann from Missionhurst, Arlington, (Summer Uniform). All are welcome
Please remember that the speed limit around the school is 5mph. It is imperative that this speed limit be observed for the safety of ALL our students.
Also, please be patient while waiting to exit onto Linton Hall Road. The left turn is challenging and visibility is not always clear.
To help the afternoon car pool run more smoothly, please place a large sign with your name on your windshield.
OUR FIRST SERVICE OPPORTUNITY – Comfort Cases Packing Party at LHS
This Saturday, September 10, Linton Hall School will again be hosting a comfort cases packing party in the gymnasium. Packing volunteers are needed! Please arrive by 10am and be ready to pack!
Spirit Day Monday, Sept 12
Next Saturday, September 17, Linton Hall School will once again participate in Haymarket Day. Linton Hall School will have a booth where we will be sharing information about our wonderful school and our Preschool will be participating in the parade. Any student in lower or upper school who would like to walk with the float, please email Mrs. Finkel, email@example.com, All we ask is that you wear your Linton Hall School summer uniform. If you are there to enjoy the day with your family, be sure to drop by the booth to say hello!!!

High School Information Fair
Calling all Linton Hall School 6th, 7th and 8th grade families! On Thursday, October 13 at 6:30pm we will be hosting a High School Information Fair. The event will feature 5 of the private schools our students most often attend. They include PVI, Pope John Paul the Great, Highland School, Wakefield School, and Randolph Macon Academy. Please join us, with your students, to learn about the programs offered by these schools. Each school will have a representative to answer your questions and provide you with helpful information. Open House Dates
Please spread the word about Open Houses we will be having through the school year. The dates are November 6th, 2016; January 29th 2017; and March 26th, 2017. Please note the date change for the November Open House, this has been changed so that there is no conflict with the Redskin game schedule. Each Open House is open to the public and all families are welcome to come and share the school spirit.

We have had a great start to school at LHS Little Sprouts! The halls and classrooms are filled with laughter and singing again- a perfect combination of sounds!!
Growing Together Parent Child Class Offering at LHS Little Sprouts
We have a very special class opportunity being offered this Fall. Please see the ATTACHED registration form if you are interested or share with friends, playgroups and neighbors!
- “Growing Together”Parent-Child Classes for toddlers (COST: $90 for all 6 sessions, checks made to “LHS”)
- Instructor:Erin Erickson
- Class Days: Fridays, 9:15-10:15; 6 classes October 7, 14, 21; November 4, 18; Dec. 2
- Description:Old-fashioned fun filled with wiggling, giggling, and lots of learning through purposeful play! This 6 session parent-child class is designed to encourage basic developmental skills in toddlers and to acclimate the children to the school routine. Each class will include activities to develop fine and gross motor skills as well as social skills. Activities include songs, movement, crafts, stories, snack and more. A parent or other adult accompanies the child during the class.

Fiesta Night, a Class of 2017 fund raiser, is set for Thursday, September 29th! Take a break from cooking dinner and let the Class of 2017 students and parents prepare delicious Mexican entrees and sides for your family to enjoy at home!
Place your order by Wednesday, September 22nd, then pick up and pay for your order on Thursday, September 29th during two convenient pick-up times: 12:30pm – 1:30pm or 2:30pm – 4:00pm. Extended Day families – we’ll have your meals ready during Extended Day pick up times!

Extended Day Handbook Now Available
The Extended Day Handbook was sent home via email on Tuesday. We also have attached it here for your perusal. Click HERE to view the Handbook. This year, we are welcoming Keri Teboe to the Extended Day program, who will be leading Little Sprouts Extended Day and helping with Linton Hall Extended Day in the afternoons. Mary White will be leading morning Little Sprouts Extended Day and Linton Hall Extended Day, morning and afternoon. Linton Hall School’s Legendary Fife & Drum Corps Starting its 17th Year – New Members K-8 Welcome!
The LHS Fife & Drum Corps is looking for new members who are interested in playing fife or drums (snare/bass), marching in parades and continuing the legacy of performing patriotic music for our LHS Community, our local neighbors, our Veterans, (especially those WWII Veterans on Honor Air flights at Dulles!), our Senior Citizens and even our Virginia state leadership in Richmond! Tonight at “Back to School Night” the Corps will have a table in the hallway outside the main office. There will be a fifer and drummer giving musical demonstrations of some of the Corps’ musical repertoire. Parents of experienced Corps members will be there to answer questions, provide history of the Corps, registration and fee information, as well as the upcoming Fall Performance Schedule. The first Corps rehearsal is Wednesday, September 7th, from 3:30 – 5:30 in the gym and children in grades K-8 are encouraged to join. More detailed information will be emailed soon to all LHS families and there will be a table tonight at Back-to School Night.
