Leo Club

Linton Hall’s Leo Club is a branch of the Lion’s Club that helps shape the leadership and working skills of 5th through 8th grade students.  Our Leo Club works in both in the school and the community.  It has been operating at Linton Hall for nearly thirty years.  During that time, it has won two Excellence Awards.  The Excellence Award is given to one Leo Club from each district.  Based on the work each Leo Club has performed, the district governor will choose which club is to receive the esteemed award.

Members

The Leo Club consists of several students who are actively involved in the community and Linton Hall.  Mr. Bill Farquhar and Mrs. Angela Gill are the sponsors of the Leo Club.  The club meets once every other week in the All Purpose Room on the Second Floor.  They welcome new members to join the club around Christmas time.  The leadership includes a President, Secretary, Financial Secretary, Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and a Board of Directors.

Activities

Each quarter the Leos are required to do a certain amount of work.  The type of work the members take part in includes fundraisers, community service, and school activities.  Specific activities take place at Birmingham Green and the Groundhog Dinner at Metz Middle School.

Monthly donations are made out to the B.A.R.N., a shelter on Monastery grounds that provides a new start for women and their children.  In the past, donations have also been given to the following organizations:

The Leos also help organize the yearly Appalachia program that provides clothing and necessary items for needy children.

Each year, the Leo Club sponsors the popular and much adored Valentine Grams.  This is the Leos most important fundraiser of the year, and the club is always pleased by the amount of support.

The Linton Hall Leo Club thanks the Linton Hall Community for its continual support.
