Here we are, the fourteenth day of March, and it’s a SNOW DAY! Countless ice cubes have been flushed, pajamas have been worn inside out, and spoons have been stashed under pillows since December…all to no avail – until now!
Officially, the snow started to fall exactly one week before the first day of Spring. Timing is everything, and this snow day makes it a four day weekend. As students, parents and teachers grew weary with a winter absent of snow days, it happened, one flake at a time! God is good!
I can’t help but think that this beautiful snow’s timing is not only about a four day weekend. Perhaps it is a Lenten reminder of God’s mercy and grace, demonstrated in a blanket of pure white. And peeking up through the snow are the tips of daffodils, tulips and hyacinths, the assurance of new life, foreshadowing the promise of Easter. Thank you, Lord, for such a wonderful reminder that comes in the form of a snow day!
