Mr. Linton has been working with upper school on African Americans shaping the West from the Buffalo Soldiers to the Bill Pickett Rodeo. African Americans were pivotal in shaping the West and they continue to work to preserve their Western heritage. Today we honor their continued effort and historical sacrifice by honoring the African American cowboy and cowgirl. ... See MoreSee Less

Another awesome STEM project with Mrs. Winch! Yesterday we were experimenting with chemical reactions! We melted baking soda dinosaur eggs with vinegar, one straw full at a time! We learned that when baking soda mixes with vinegar it releases carbon dioxide! And, the kiddos hatched a Dino! #lhsstem #sciencerocks ... See MoreSee Less

From the moment we did our first tour almost 5 years ago for our son we knew that Linton Hall School was the place for our children. The curriculum as well as the academic and faith guiding principles our son learned as a preschooler have served him extremely well in his elementary school years and our daughter is getting that same foundation. The engaging staff and energetic teachers have always ensured that our children have been safe, loved, and excited about learning. At LHS you are family. This past year has been tough but LHS has been the light during this academic school year. Our daughter comes home excited about her day, what she learned and how she grew, and what adventures await her. We have been so very lucky and blessed we call LHS family and we look forward to another year of being an LHS family.- NewsThe Rooney Family- News#TestimonialThursday #weloveourlhsfamilies #littlesprouts ... Small but Mighty

As we get closer to the last day of school, our hearts are stirred by the inevitability of 8th grade graduation. It is truly a sentimental journey as we observe our 8th graders, this small but mighty group of eleven, become more and more eager to step into the future....

With a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, I stand in silence watching, listening, and feeling each moment of our 8th grade’s Stations of the Cross presentation. This tradition never fails to have such a penetrating effect on my heart. It is The Journey, the...

The Sound of Silence

Noise and school usually go hand in hand. Let’s face it, when you have nearly 300 children in one location, you are going to have noise, albeit, a joyful noise! However, if you are ever in the halls during Lent for arrival and dismissal, you will hear the distinct...

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

Oh my goodness, it’s Open House time here at Linton Hall School! This makes me very happy. Why, you ask? Because this is the time when we let our little light shine for all to see! In the fall of 2001, when our son was just 4 ½ years old, we showed up at Linton Hall...

A Beautiful Bouquet

I love a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers! Now, I’m not saying that I would turn down a dozen red roses. But really, a vase full of a variety of colors, textures, and sizes tickles all the senses and is just more fun. So, you ask, why am I reflecting on flowers?...

A Snowy Promise

Here we are, the fourteenth day of March, and it’s a SNOW DAY! Countless ice cubes have been flushed, pajamas have been worn inside out, and spoons have been stashed under pillows since December…all to no avail – until now! Officially, the snow started to fall exactly...

New Beginnings

Winter has at last come to an end. Spring has sprung and the promise of new beginnings is all around us! The week before our Easter Break, we experienced the new beginning of life in our middle school science class. Eggs in an incubator resulted in fourteen adorable...
