FIESTA NIGHT –  A Great Success!

Thank you to everyone who supported the LHS Class of 2017 Cool Cuisine “Fiesta Night” fund raiser!  We have received great feedback on the event and we hope everyone enjoyed their home cooked meal!  The students gained invaluable experience marketing, preparing, packing and delivering food orders.  The power outage made the day far more interesting than was originally planned, and that also taught the students how to adapt quickly when things don’t go as planned on event day.  The LHS Class of 2017 looks forward to offering more delicious “Cool Cuisine” options in the near future!


Half Day Schedule Tomorrow, Oct. 7th

Dismissal will be 11:45 tomorrow.  If your child is staying for Extended day, Please send in a packed lunch.  There will be no lunch service offered.

Our next Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 14th at 10:00 am in the Monastery Chapel.  All are welcome.


GGC T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST UNDERWAY! Submission Deadline: Tomorrow Friday, Oct 7

Calling all artists, doodlers, and scribblers! Show off your talent and put a FACE on the RACE!  The 26th annual GGC will be an exciting 1- mile event that includes running combined with fun and challenging obstacles for all ages!  The winning design will appear on LHS-approved P.E. t-shirts that will be available for purchase to wear on Spirit Wear days!

Switch to Winter Uniforms

On Tuesday, October 11 we make the switch to winter uniforms. However, as October’s weather is inconsistent, this year we will have a period of transition. Students may may choose to wear either their summer uniform or their winter uniform depending on the weather of the day. This period of transition will end Friday, October 21. After which, all students are expected to wear their winter uniform. On Picture Day, October 18, all students are expected to wear their complete winter dress uniform.

Boys Soccer Tournament

Just a reminder we host the Boys soccer tournament and that it is scheduled for Friday, October 21. The canteen will be open for snacks and drinks. Details will follow!

Christmas in October Service Project

For our October Service Learning Project, we are asking all of our Linton Hall School families to support the Sisters with their collection of gifts for the Appalachian Missions.  This mission serves the children in Appalachia who are in need of basic necessities.  Please consider contributing to this wonderful charity. Join us in sharing a love of reading with our students at the Linton Hall School’s Scholastic Book Fair from October 6 – October 15, 2016.


Visit the Book Fair as a family.  Talk with your child about what they are reading.  Connect your child with books they want to read and build your home library. It’s a great way to ensure your child’s success!Individual Picture day is coming October 18th

“I Can Help” Parent Workshop October 19

This workshop is to help parents and their children open a discussion about growing up in the digital age.  Parenting has taken on a whole new role now that social media is so easy to get mixed up in.  This is a free workshop. All are welcome. Please click HERE to see more information.

First Quarter Conferences

First quarter conferences are scheduled for Friday, November 11 from 8:30am-4:30pm. K-5 homeroom teachers will be scheduling their own sign ups through sign-up genius. For teachers of grade 6-8, you will be receiving an invitation through sign up genius from Mrs Poole. The sign up genius invitations will be sent on Friday, October 28. Each conference will last for 20 minutes.


LHS Chess Club News!

Do you have a passion for the game of Chess? Would you like to pass on your knowledge of the game to a group of kids that are eager to learn/improve their game? Our Chess Club is looking for a new instructor/coach. We meet Friday’s bi-monthly before school from 7 – 8 AM. We have several students who participate in the Prince William Scholastic Chess Tournaments on a Saturday each month and the Catholic Schools Chess Tournament at St. Rita School in April. We have a group of helpers to assist with the club meetings during the month, we just really need an instructor/coach! It’s back!  The PSG’s most anticipated event of the year is here!  Get ready for some fun, food and great prizes at this year’s Bingoween, on Thursday October 27 from 6-8pm.  Have a little one and not sure if they will sit through Bingo?  Not to worry- we will have our Little Monsters Play area in the back of the gym to keep them entertained!

High School Information Fair

Calling all Linton Hall School 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade families! On Thursday, October 13 at 7:00pm we will be hosting a High School Information Fair. The event will feature 5 of the private schools our students most often attend. They include PVI, Pope John Paul the Great, Highland School, Wakefield School, and Randolph Macon Academy. Please join us, with your students, to learn about the programs offered by these schools. Each school will have a representative to answer your questions and provide you with helpful information. We hope this evening will be informative and helpful in finding just the right High School for your child(ren)! Please email Mrs. Finkel at mfinkel@lintonhall.edu if you think you may attend. Open House Dates

Please spread the word about Open Houses we will be having through the school year.  The dates are November 6th, 2016; January 29th 2017; and March 26th, 2017.  Please note the date change for the November Open House, this has been changed so that there is no conflict with the scheduled Redskin game. Each Open House is open to the public and all families are welcome to come and share the school spirit.


Box Tops

Calling all classes…Bring in those box tops!! The K-8th grade class that brings in the most box tops through October 21st will win a DRESS DOWN DAY. The preschool class that brings in the most box tops will earn a PAJAMA DAY!  Please put your box tops in a sealable bag, labeled with name and grade and return to homeroom teacher.  See flyer HERE


Uniform Closet

The uniform closet has been switched from summer uniforms to winter uniforms.  Before you purchase new uniforms, go check it out to see if we have the size that you need in almost like new condition!  New this season:  socks for $1/pair and windbreakers for $5/each- while supplies last!  Please see attached price sheet for other items.


Growing Together Parent Child Class Offering at LHS Little Sprouts

We have a very special class opportunity being offered this Fall.  Please see the ATTACHED registration form if you are interested or share with friends, playgroups and neighbors!

  • “Growing Together”Parent-Child Classes for toddlers (COST: $90 for all 6 sessions, checks made to “LHS”)
  • Instructor:Erin Erickson
  • Class Days: Fridays, 9:15-10:15; 6 classes October 7, 14, 21; November 4, 18; Dec. 2
  • Description:Old-fashioned fun filled with wiggling, giggling, and lots of learning through purposeful play! This 6 session parent-child class is designed to encourage basic developmental skills in toddlers and to acclimate the children to the school routine.  Each class will include activities to develop fine and gross motor skills as well as social skills.  Activities include songs, movement, crafts, stories, snack and more.  A parent or other adult accompanies the child during the class.

LHS Spirit Wear

LHS Spirit Wear orders were sent home.  Thank you for your support and participation!  The flannel pants was a top seller.  We have one pair of Adult Medium flannel pajama pants left for $25!  Please contact Katie McHugh at katie.l.mchugh@gmail.com if you’d like to see a photo and/or or would like to purchase the pajama pants.
